Loose Women’s stars Gloria Hunniford and Kaye Adams had a very awkward clash live in the studio during Friday’s episode of the ITV show.

The pair were joined by Judi Love, 45, and Jane Moore, 63, on the programme to chat about the latest news and headlines.

The panel discussed how Prime Minister Keir Starmer, 63, has refused to resign from his position and as the conversation went on, it got heated between the two.

Gloria, 86, and Kaye, 63, locked horns during the segment as they gave their opinions on if they wanted ‘Burnham’s Britain’.

‘I want to beat my head against a brick wall, all this country wants is a bit of stability, people want their lives to be better,’ Kaye said. ‘That’s what you want, to be better.’

Gloria replied: ‘People want change. They do. They do.’

Kaye quickly interjected and asked her co-star: ‘No Gloria, that’s an interesting thing. What is change? Define change for me.’

Gloria went on to explain: ‘The average public are fed up from the very beginning when the Labour party came in, and the actions that they took in for example…’

Sensing that she was going to get interrupted, Gloria continued: ‘Just let me finish my bit…’

Kaye later replied: ‘The thing is Gloria, you have an election, you vote in a government.

‘We voted in Labour government, if the people decide they don’t want a Labour government, then they vote them out.’

Gloria then told her: ‘But what you’re skipping is the mood of the people.’

But Kaye replied: ‘But you can’t talk about the mood of the people Gloria, because different people have different…’

Jane then asked Gloria if she would like a general election, to which she confirmed that she would.

This led an intrigued Kaye to ask Gloria: ‘Did you vote for the Labour Party this time?’

‘I’m not telling you who I voted for,’ Gloria replied.

Kaye shared her thoughts, to which Gloria replied to her: ‘Kaye, just give me one second for goodness sake to speak. I sound like a politician!’

Trying to lift the mood, Judi joked: ‘This feels like parliament to me right there!’

It comes after Kaye was removed from her £155K-a-year BBC Radio Scotland show in October after she faced complaints of misconduct, including allegations that she swore at a colleague, threw a pen, and berated an intern.

In February, it was revealed that Kaye would not be returning to the BBC after it reportedly upheld some allegations but dismissed others.

Kaye’s celebrity pals threw their support behind her, branding her the ‘kindest woman in TV with Loose Women stars Olivia Attwood, Stacey Solomon, Nadia Sawalha, Katie Piper, Jane Moore, Sunetra Sarker, and Carol Vorderman among those backing her.

And now her former talent agent, Melanie, 49, has publicly defended her, claiming Kaye would never even ‘throw a pen… unlike others who would snap in an instant’.

She wrote in a lengthy X statement: ‘Since there’s so much interest in my time in the #LooseWomen bubble – I’ll comment and I can because it was me that returned Kaye to the show as I was her manager at the time.

‘Many “testing times” went on behind the scenes, sometimes around her, but she never once acted like that or showed any signs of that she would, unlike others who would snap in an instant and show it. But not Kaye Adams.

‘I can’t even imagine Kaye throwing a pen! Sounds ridiculous, she’s just not that kind of person.’

Melanie added in the comment section: ‘She’s very calm even under fire.’

Kaye is still a regular panellist and presenter on ITV’s Loose Women, which previously said it was standing by the star.

The presenter issued a statement where she ‘categorically denied’ using the offensive C-word 14 years ago and berating an intern.

She said: ‘I’m aware of malicious stories circulating about the reasons for my departure from BBC Scotland.

‘I’ve tried to keep a dignified silence but these attacks on my character are now so persistent, they can no longer go unchallenged.

‘I categorically deny using a misogynistic slur 14 years ago and I’m horrified at its invention more than a decade later. It is absolutely not a word I would have used.’

‘As for ‘berating an intern’, this is simply untrue.

‘Regarding the allegation that I threw a pencil while alone in an empty studio, words fail me.

‘I am heartbroken that 15 years of hard work and dedication to BBC Scotland is being reduced to this.

‘There’s really nothing more I can say apart from offer my heart-felt thanks to friends and colleagues – junior and senior – across the corporation who have sent their good wishes and support.’
