Mel B. was the last judge to use a Golden Buzzer in Season 21 of America’s Got Talent. After holding out on pushing the buzzer in the first two episodes of Auditions, the Spice Girls singer pulled the trigger for singer Isaac Atkins in Episode 3.

Isaac sang “Beggin’” by Måneskin for his audition, and Mel wasted no time declaring that she wanted him to move through to the Live Shows. However, fans weren’t as impressed, with one viewer even starting a Reddit thread titled, “WTH was that Mel B. Golden Buzzer?”

Others popped in to agree. Someone wrote, “i liked his voice but yeah, definitely feels like she hit it because he was attractive like the juggling brothers from last season,” and another person said, “Bro picked the easiest song to sing, gave about 25%, and somehow got a golden buzzer. Genuinely the worst GB this season and the bar is already through the floor.”

Another person agreed with the previous commenter that Mel only buzzed in because of Isaac’s looks, and someone else said, “Was okay, not great, not bad, not golden buzzer worthy though damn!”

“Agreed…I was not impressed,” someone else jumped in to say, while another added, “She gave it to him because he’s attractive and has a sexy voice, not because he has a good singing voice. Also, it seemed like no one else was going to do it lol. Why was she acting like someone else was going to.”

This was the sixth Golden Buzzer of the season so far. Simon Cowell gave one of his two to Lai Noelle, a singer, Terry Crews gave one of his to Arco Canine Crew, a dance team that performs with dogs, and Sofia Vergara gave her first to singer Lara D. So far, Howie Mandel is the only person who has used both Golden Buzzers, giving his first to rapper Luke Taleno and second to magic act Hundred Fingers.
