A fan named Colin stole the show when Luke Bryan brought his tour to Moline, Illinois, on Friday night, proving that you never know what might happen at one of the country superstar’s concerts.
One of the best things about a Luke Bryan show is that you’re guaranteed to have a good time. Not only is Bryan one of country music’s most entertaining performers, but he also makes every concert unique by interacting with fans throughout the night. This time, that spontaneous interaction turned one unsuspecting fan into the star of the evening.
While performing at Vibrant Arena at The MARK during his Word on the Street Tour, Bryan spotted Colin dancing with his wife in the crowd and couldn’t resist stopping the show.
Pointing toward the couple, Bryan joked, “Ma’am, do you know him?”
After she confirmed she did, the country star invited Colin to join him onstage.
“Come up here real quick.”
Before letting him loose, Bryan jokingly put Colin through an impromptu sobriety test and teased him about his dance moves. Then, the country superstar, who’s known for his signature hip-shaking onstage, decided to give the fan a quick lesson in “shaking it.”
As it turned out, Colin didn’t need much instruction.
He immediately started shaking his hips with confidence, sending the crowd into a frenzy while Bryan laughed so hard he had to stop singing.
“This is so damn fun,” Bryan admitted from the stage.
The party only escalated from there as Bryan launched into Kenny Loggins’ “Footloose.” Colin fully embraced the moment, dancing all over the stage, dropping into the worm, doing the splits, and earning cheers from the audience with every move.
When the performance came to an end, Colin shared a hug with Bryan before the singer told him, “Colin, you earned a beer, you crazy son of a gun.”
Bryan then handed him a beer, which Colin promptly shotgunned onstage as the arena erupted with applause.
As Colin headed back toward the crowd, Bryan laughed and admitted, “I thought that was gonna go awful, but it went way better than I was expecting.”
But Bryan wasn’t finished rewarding Colin.
Impressed by Colin’s unforgettable performance, the country star surprised him with the ultimate prize.
“Colin, for that, you get free tickets to my concerts for life.”
It didn’t take long for the hilarious interaction to go viral. Colin’s name quickly began trending across social media as videos from the moment racked up thousands of views. Fans dubbed it the “highlight of the night,” while others joked, “COLIN FOR PRESIDENT!”
According to concertgoers, Colin even left Moline with a brand-new nickname: “Redneck Magic Mike.”
Luke Bryan’s Word on the Street Tour continues this evening in Clarkston, MI at Pine Knob Music Theatre. The “Knockin’ Boots” singer will bring the tour to cities like Orange Beach, San Diego, Tampa, and more before wrapping up the tour on September 12 in West Palm Beach.
Days later, he will launch his annual Farm Tour in Latrobe, PA.
