An Ordinary Omaha Teacher Walked Onto The America’s Got Talent Stage Looking Like The Last Person You’d Expect To Steal The Show—Then He Perfectly Captured The Voices And Personalities Of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, And Other Hollywood Stars, Leaving The Judges Wondering How One Person Could Sound So Unbelievably Accurate. What started as a lighthearted audition quickly turned into a nonstop surprise as each impression drew even louder reactions than the last. By the end, fans were saying the biggest twist wasn’t just how funny he was—it was how effortlessly he transformed into some of the most recognizable voices in entertainment.

Cameron Logsdon seamlessly transformed his voice during Night 6 of AGT Season 21 Auditions.

Key Takeaways

  • Omaha public speaking lecturer Cameron Logsdon earned praise on America’s Got Talent with a comedy routine built around celebrity judge impressions and audience interaction.
  • His impressions of Jason Statham, Mark Wahlberg, and The Rock stood out for combining accurate voices and mannerisms with funny ideas about how each celebrity would judge the competition.
  • Despite mixed feedback on the format from Mel B, the performance won over Sofía Vergara, Simon Cowell, and Howie Mandel, giving Logsdon enough yes votes to advance.

Omaha, Nebraska native Cameron Logsdon is a college public speaking lecturer, and when he walked onto the America’s Got Talent stage to audition for Season 21, it was easy to see why.How to Watch

Terry Crews stands near the judges on America's Got Talent Episode 2022.

He carries himself with an easy confidence, and speaks casually, clearly and quickly. “I had my kid when I was young, and I prioritized raising him and doing all of that,” Logsdon explained to the Judges on Night 6 of Auditions, telling them that his son is “very excited” that his dad is on AGT. “He’s in college now. I was a teen parent. To get this opportunity, it means a lot.”

As the stand-up comedian launched into his Act, he did a stellar job of subtly buttering up Judges Howie MandelMel BSimon Cowell, and Sofía Vergara. “You all know that being a Judge on this show is a highly coveted job. Everybody wants to have it. You all are so good at it. I know you need breaks every once in a while. Howie, you might need to buy some new sunglasses, everybody needs a rest day, I get it, and so what I have for you today is actually some résumés of celebrities that might be good Judges on this show,” Logsdon explained, handing Cowell papers.

“Rather than bring [celebrities] in and do all the scheduling, I printed these out. I was hoping maybe you’d just take a look at some of these résumés. I will then help you screen them by doing an impression of some of the celebrities that might help make good Judges on the show,” Logsdon continued, inviting Cowell to call out the names of the A-listers he’d like to see Logsdon impersonate. (Ever the self-promoter, Cowell introduced each name by saying whether or not he knew the celebrity in question personally.)

How Cameron Logsdon played Jason Statham, Mark Wahlberg, and The Rock as AGT Judges

It wasn’t just the voice and mannerisms; Logsdon also had fun ideas for how his version of the celebs would approach the job of judging AGT. As action star Jason Statham, for instance, he told the crowd, “Alright, here’s the deal. I think I would be a fantastic Judge on the show. But I do got a couple ideas. For starters, instead of a buzzer, we get a big lever. When you pull it, the stage tilts at a 45 degree angle, anyone left holding on, moves on to the next round.”

Then, as an out-of-breath Mark Wahlberg, he explained, “Yeah, you know what, I would love to be a Judge on this show! Perfectly honest with you. But look Simon, you know I keep a tough schedule. I gotta be up at 2:30 to go to the gym, then it’s back to the gym at 4:30 for second breakfast and doing legs. I could probably squeeze you in between my third and fourth session but is there any chance we could get a squat rack on stage?”

Finally, as The Rock, Logsdon magnanimously declared, “Simon, you know me. I’m the hardest worker in the room. That’s unless of course Kevin Hart is in the room, but he has to work twice as hard, HA HA HA. But seriously, if anybody tries any funny business, I’ll lay the smackdown, on their candy ASS!”

He also impersonated Jennifer Coolidge and Will Smith. Vergara, Cowell, and Mandel all loved the Act and Logsdon’s fresh approach to structuring a series of impressions, though Mel B wish he’d stuck to a traditional format that didn’t require Cowell’s participation. Still, all you need is three Yes votes, and Logsdon got ’em!

John Foster Couldn’t Find Any Words For Dolly Parton… So He Reached For ONE SONG That Said Everything. After Dolly Parton’s death, American Idol runner-up John Foster chose not to make a grand speech. Instead, he picked up his acoustic guitar and quietly sang “I Will Always Love You”—one of Dolly’s most beloved songs. His tribute quickly struck a chord with fans, but it was Foster’s explanation that made the performance even more emotional: he admitted that his own words could never do justice to what Dolly meant to him, so he let Dolly’s own songwriting speak in his place.
