NETFLIX HAS FINALLY BROKEN THE SILENCE… AND THE FIRST TRAILER IS ALREADY WINNING FANS OVER. One of Netflix’s most beloved comedy series is officially making its return, and the newly released trailer is packed with the heartfelt moments, hilarious chaos, and familiar faces that made the original such a fan favorite. Within hours of its debut, viewers were already calling the upcoming season even funnier and more emotional than before, fueling excitement for what could be the show’s biggest chapter yet.

Leanne Morgan is back for more laughs.

PEOPLE can exclusively reveal the trailer for season 2 of the comedian’s Netflix sitcom, which will feature a lot more family, a few new life challenges and one woman just “trying to make sense of it all.”

Season 2 follows Leanne as her “world is turned upside down,” per a synopsis, and takes place after the character’s husband of 33 years unexpectedly leaves her for another woman.

“Supported by her family, including her ride-or-die sister Carol (Kristen Johnston), Leanne learns to embrace the chaos and finds strength, laughter and hope in the most unexpected places,” the description reads. “This heartfelt comedy proves that it’s never too late to rewrite your story.”

Morgan tells PEOPLE she thinks fans will be excited for this one. “To see how Leanne navigates this new chapter of her life — handling a divorce, caring for aging parents, dating at 60, and trying to make sense of it all, the way we all do,” the comedian, 60, says. “I hope people find it both relatable and hilarious.”

In the trailer, Morgan’s character comes to terms with hitting a new decade, all while giving her pal Carol a slap across the face for reminding her that she is. Too many “senior moments” then lead to her parents moving in with her, because “family takes care of family.”

The rest of the teaser features talk of “divorce remorse,” some dating action and Leanne and Carol finding a “leftover mystery pill” on the dinner table.

“This season opens with my elderly parents, Celia Weston [Mama Margaret] and Blake Clark [Daddy John], moving into my house — a significant adjustment for everyone involved. It takes all of us to care for them properly,” Morgan says. “No one wants to give up their independence, but they need help.”

She can relate to that feeling “deeply” with her own parents, who are 83 and 85.

“They’re still in their home, but they need more assistance with each passing year,” she says. “There’s real tension that comes with everyone living under one roof, but you have to find the humor in it to get through.”

Johnston calls Weston and Clark’s performances “utterly brilliant and hilarious.” The new season, Johnston tells PEOPLE, saw the writers going “on a deep dive into the heartbreak and humor and impossibleness of taking care of your aging parents,” and she promises a show that will “make you laugh and cry in the same scene.”

Still, she says “the true joy” she gets from the series is “whenever it’s a sisters storyline.”

“From day one everything I get to do with Leanne has been so effortless and meaningful,” she adds. “She’s just so fun to act with and man does she deliver.”

Season 2 of Leanne, from Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television, premieres on Netflix Aug. 27.
