I’M A PRINCE! HARRY REPEATS THE REMINDER TWICE DURING BOMBSHELL INTERVIEW — THE AWKWARD MOMENT THAT HAS PUT HIS ROYAL IDENTITY BACK UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT! Prince Harry’s latest interview has produced a striking moment after the Duke reportedly reminded his interviewer that he was a prince—not once, but twice. The exchange has drawn attention to the royal title that remains central to his public identity, even years after he stepped back from official royal duties. With Harry continuing to build a life outside the working monarchy, the moment has added a fresh twist to the ongoing debate over his relationship with the institution he left behind. Two reminders in one conversation—and a revealing moment that has reignited scrutiny of how Harry sees his place in the royal world today.

Prince Harry sat down for a new bombshell interview this week.

Prince Harry

Prince Harry appeared to refer to himself as a ‘prince’ twice during a new bombshell interview with GQ. The 42-year-old has appeared in the new interview, which covered topics such as his experience of grief, his time in the military, his relationship with the press and why he has now returned to the UK. He also used the interview to delve into his ongoing feud with his family, revealing once again that he would like to reconcile with his brother, Prince William.

At one point in the interview, Harry was asked why he doesn’t need sympathy. To which he replied: “I certainly don’t want any sympathy. That’s where we’re way past that. Why? Because I’m a prince. I’ve got a support network around me, I’ve done different forms of therapy, and I put in the work. I wonder where I would be if I didn’t — it could be a very different situation.”

He then reverted to thinking about his age at the time his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, died. Harry spoke of the resources available to him to cope with the late royal’s death, especially as a young child, whilst speaking about his position in the Royal Family.

He said: “And look, let’s not forget, I’m a prince, right? So all of the resources to me should have been available for the reasons that we’ve discussed. They weren’t always available, but could I afford it? Yes. Was it accessible? Yes.”

Although Harry still openly uses his princely title, he isn’t allowed to use his HRH title since stepping down as a working royal. A statement was released last month, just weeks after his return, that stated that Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, are no longer working royals despite now living back in Britain.

Harry’s latest interview has also raised eyebrows as it was released on the very same day that the royals stepped out in Windsor for the historic state visit of Oman. King Charles, Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed the Sultan of Oman to a rainy Windsor for his state visit to the UK earlier today.

Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said was greeted by the monarch in the open air outside Windsor and Eton Riverside station amid autumn downpours. The pomp and pageantry will continue later today at a glittering state banquet at Windsor Castle.

During the interview, which was released today, Harry spoke of the reason for his return to the UK with Meghan and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. He said: “I think that certainly, our attitude has changed. I think once you’ve been through it, once you’ve been able to talk about it, and raise awareness of it, then people see it for what it is; it makes the environment slightly easier.

“It’s not going to necessarily stop the behaviour, but I think the behaviour might—my hope that it will—change. What happened back then was then. What’s happened over the last six years has been a continuation of that. Some battles that had been fought—and necessarily so. […]”

Meghan and Harry pictured in Nottingham last week

The royal couple stepped out for a series of quasi-royal engagements in Nottingham last week, the city where the couple made their first post-engagement appearance in late 2017.

As the couple made their way to their first visit of the day, the city’s Community Recording Studio (CRS), between 150 and 200 people arrived to warmly welcome them. The local community charity that offers various youth development programmes.

The couple then moved into their second visit: the Himmah Hub, a community action group addressing food poverty in Nottingham. The couple finally made their way to Epic Partners in Nottingham, their last stop of the day.
