Meghan Markle’s Hollywood Comeback Faces Fresh Setback as Netflix Insider Warns Her ‘Safety Net’ Has Disappeared

Meghan Markle’s reported plans for a major acting comeback have encountered fresh uncertainty following conflicting claims about her possible involvement in Netflix’s hit crime drama The Gentlemen.
The Duchess of Sussex, who stepped away from her acting career before marrying Prince Harry, was reportedly linked to a potential role in Guy Ritchie’s popular series.
However, recent reports suggest those discussions are no longer progressing, while an entertainment commentator has warned that changes within Netflix could make Meghan’s return to Hollywood considerably more challenging.
Meghan Markle Reportedly No Longer in Talks for The Gentlemen
According to recent reports, Meghan is no longer being considered for a role in The Gentlemen, despite earlier speculation about her involvement.
Sources described as friends of the Duchess told The Telegraph they believed her name had been used to generate publicity for the programme.
They alleged that information about her potential casting had been circulated to attract attention, rather than reflecting a firm agreement.

However, a source close to Netflix rejected the suggestion that the production needed Meghan’s celebrity status to boost interest.
“This is not a show in need of stunt casting,” the insider told The Times.
Neither account establishes exactly how far any discussions progressed, and no confirmed casting announcement had been made.
The conflicting claims have nevertheless raised questions about Meghan’s prospects of securing a prominent acting role.
Royal Commentator Claims Meghan Has Lost Key Netflix Support
British broadcaster Helena Chard has suggested that changes within Netflix’s leadership could create additional difficulties for the Duchess.
Speaking to Fox News, Chard claimed Meghan and Prince Harry had previously benefited from support inside the streaming company.
“Harry and Meghan’s champion inside Netflix, Bela Bajaria, has recently left the streaming service,” she said.

“The previous safety net is gone.”
Chard argued that Meghan could face significant obstacles if she hopes to return immediately to a high-profile acting production.
“Unfortunately for Meghan, she may want to jump straight into a top acting role, but there is far more stacked against it happening,” she added.
Her remarks represent an outside assessment of Meghan’s career prospects rather than confirmation of Netflix’s internal casting decisions.
What the Setback Could Mean for Meghan’s Acting Career
Before becoming a member of the Royal Family, Meghan was best known for portraying Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits.
Her departure from the series marked the end of her regular television acting career as she prepared for royal life.
Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Meghan and Prince Harry have pursued various entertainment and media projects, including their high-profile partnership with Netflix.
A return to scripted television would represent a significant new chapter for the Duchess, particularly if it involved an established production such as The Gentlemen.
For now, however, her involvement in the series remains unconfirmed, and reports indicate that any potential opportunity has stalled.
The latest claims do not mean Meghan has abandoned acting altogether, nor do they establish that Netflix has ruled out working with her on future projects.
But the combination of disputed casting reports and questions about her support within the streaming industry has placed renewed scrutiny on whether a major Hollywood comeback is imminent.
