Experience the Tranquil Charm of a Small Rural Community in Florida

Get ready to discover Carrabelle, Florida – a place with a real story! Situated right on the stunning Gulf of Mexico in the eastern Florida Panhandle, Carrabelle is not just a town, it’s a historic community where the sea has been a way of life for over a century. Picture this: shrimping, oystering, fishing galore, plus lumber, turpentine, flour mills, and even railroads – they’ve all shaped Carrabelle’s journey. With state and national forests all around, plus a beautiful deep-water seaport, it’s a place that’s got it all. This town of around 1300 folks is all about hospitality, which in my opinion, is what small-town charm is all about.

So, what do you think about this tiny rural community in Florida? Have you ever visited before? Sound off in the comments section! We’d love to hear about your favorite restaurants, attractions, and events. Speaking of attractions, did you know the Crooked River Lighthouse is over 125 years old?! What an accomplishment!
