With The Voice Season 30 set to premiere this September, new coach Riley Green is reportedly still adjusting to life behind the famous red chair.

The upcoming season will feature returning coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine, alongside first-time coaches Queen Latifah and Riley Green. Filming is already underway ahead of the show’s fall premiere.

According to a report from The Sun, the two newcomers have made very different impressions during production.

The Voice' Season 30 Finds Its Very Own Simon Cowell

A source told the outlet that Queen Latifah has quickly emerged as one of the strongest personalities on the panel, earning comparisons to former American Idol judge Simon Cowell because of her direct and honest coaching style.

The insider described her as having a “commanding presence” and delivering “brutally honest critiques,” while also becoming a favorite among both contestants and audience members.

“She is such a maternal figure to these contestants in a way the show hasn’t seen before,” the source said. “She can give feedback that might intimidate some people, but it’s said with love. She wants to help and cares a lot about the coaching aspect of the role.”

Green, meanwhile, is reportedly taking a much more reserved approach.

According to the same source, the country star has been “finding his footing” as he settles into his first major television coaching role.

The Voice' Adds Grammy-Winning Icon as Coach for Season 30

“It’s his first big Hollywood type of gig, so it’s not that he’s bad at it, but you can tell he’s more shy and hesitant,” the insider claimed.

Despite his quieter presence, the report suggests producers remain optimistic about Green’s future on the show.

Season 30 of The Voice premieres Monday, Sept. 21, on NBC at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. CT), with episodes becoming available to stream the following day on Peacock. Longtime host Carson Daly will also return.

Even before the new season debuts, fans have begun wondering who will appear on the coaching panel for Season 31, which is expected to premiere early next year. While NBC has not officially announced the lineup, The Sun reported that Green is expected to return.

“I do think production is nervous about how he’ll be perceived, if America will enjoy him as much as the other coaches who are bigger household names,” the source said. “But Riley is coming back next season.”

Whether Green’s understated coaching style wins over viewers remains to be seen, but audiences won’t have to wait much longer to find out when The Voice returns this September.
