Garth Brooks’ Daughter Allie Colleen Faces Backlash Over Dolly Parton Tribute After Bringing Up Her Fear of Losing Her Famous Dad

Allie Colleen, the daughter of country superstar Garth Brooks, has found herself at the center of a social media backlash after her tribute to Dolly Parton appeared to shift attention toward her own fear of one day losing her father.

Others took issue with what they interpreted as Colleen suggesting that the public could never understand the grief of losing a famous person.

One commenter attempted to reassure her that people who had experienced the loss of a parent could understand the pain, prompting Colleen to respond.

“I don’t think you will,” she wrote, explaining that she could not know what it would feel like for someone else to lose their father, just as others could not know what losing hers would mean to her.

Colleen later clarified that she was not trying to tell anyone else how they should mourn.

She explained that she was speaking from her own experiences and acknowledged that she would never claim to understand exactly how another person feels when they lose someone important to them.
