Every now and then, people look for something different to watch, and a Netflix series has had many people hooked from the start. If you love a TV drama, it may be worth turning your attention to the series, as people think it’s one of the best things to watch on Netflix.
It was previously brought to people’s attention on Reddit, when a TV fan was keen to get some recommendations for what to watch. Very quickly, people started to suggest the same show, with many admitting they binged it all in one night as they simply couldn’t tear themselves away from the screen.
This isn’t the first show to have grabbed people’s attention either. Previously, people admitted they were staying up until the early hours of the morning to get through another great series.
The social media user said: “Looking for a show to get really pulled into and binge-watch for the night.” People were speedy to respond with suggestions; however, one series seemed to be recommended by many.

One wrote: “Dept. Q was excellent on Netflix. Just started Slow Horses and loving it, but it’s on Apple TV.”
Another responded, writing: “Dept. Q I binged in a day! Definitely agree.”
A third replied: “I came to recommend Dept. Q as well. I’ve recently started watching more British detective shows like Shetland and Broadchurch. They are really enjoyable.”
Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “I finished Dept. Q a few hours ago. Watched it straight through. Excellent show.”
One more also noted: “Dept. Q was really good. Have to agree with you on that one!”
Clearly, the show captivated many, as several admitted they were hooked to it. If you haven’t seen it, the series may be worth adding to your watchlist.
What’s the plot?
For those unaware, Dept. Q is a British crime thriller television series. It was created by Scott Frank and Chandni Lakhani, and inspired by the the book series Department Q by Danish writer Jussi Adler-Olsen.
It premiered on Netflix back in 2025, and has been renewed for a second series. Therefore, if you haven’t watched it, you’ve got time to catch up before it returns.
In a nutshell, it focuses on the story of a brilliant, but guilt-ridden detective who is assigned to lead a new basement unit solving cold cases. The team helping him along the way could perhaps be described as “misfits”.
The lead character, Detective Chief Inspector Carl Morck, who’s played by Matthew Goode, is amazing, yet unpopular. Viewers see how he struggles to cope with trauma and guilt after a violent workplace attack leaves his work partner paralysed and another officer dead.
