The final question was over in seconds… but the argument lasted far longer. The last puzzle on The 1% Club sparked a fierce debate after viewers split over whether the answer was brilliantly clever or unfairly misleading, turning the finale into one of the show’s most talked-about endings. As opinions flooded social media, some insisted the solution was obvious once explained, while others argued the final challenge crossed the line between testing logic and creating confusion. Sometimes the biggest twist isn’t who wins the jackpot—it’s the debate that begins after the answer is revealed.

The 1% Club Sparks Fresh Debate As Final 1% Question Leaves Viewers Split Between “Easiest Ever” And “Impossible To Understand”

The 1% Club has divided viewers with the show's final question as some found it the 'easiest ever' while others were 'completely stumped'

The 1% Club has divided viewers with the show’s final question as some found it the ‘easiest ever’ while others were ‘completely stumped’

The questions are based on a percentage of the population who managed to get them right, from the easy 90% question, to the most-difficult 1% riddle

Another episode of The 1% Club has ignited a heated debate after the show’s final 1% question left viewers completely divided. While some insisted it was one of the simplest endgame puzzles the ITV quiz has ever produced, others admitted they had no idea how to even begin solving it.

Hosted by Lee Mack, The 1% Club challenges 100 contestants with a series of logic-based questions that become progressively more difficult. Each round is based on the percentage of the public who answered correctly, beginning with the 90% question and building toward the infamous 1% brain teaser.

By the end of the latest episode, only three contestants remained, giving them the chance to compete for a jackpot worth £93,000.

To win the prize, they faced the final challenge:

“Look at the image below. Beginning at the START each time, LLL = A and RRR = H. What word is represented by the following: LLR, LLL, LRR, RRL, RRL?”

The unusual puzzle immediately divided the audience.

Many viewers took to social media claiming the supposedly impossible 1% question was actually far easier than expected.

Some wrote:

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, some viewers said: 'Easiest bl***y 1% question ever???'

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, some viewers said: ‘Easiest bl***y 1% question ever???’

Others didn't find it so easy, writing: 'Didn't even understand the 1% question nevermind the answer'

Others had the exact opposite reaction, saying they couldn’t even understand what the puzzle was asking.

When Lee Mack revealed the answer—BADGE—all three finalists had solved it correctly.

Instead of one winner taking everything, the remaining contestants shared the jackpot equally, each leaving with £31,000.

The debate quickly spread online, with many fans arguing that a true 1% question should feel significantly tougher, while others pointed out that difficulty is often subjective and logic puzzles can seem obvious once the solution is explained.

The latest controversy also follows another widely discussed finale from the show just weeks earlier.

In that episode, contestants were asked to decode a hidden clue in Bonnie’s message to identify the getaway vehicle she planned to use after a heist.

Although neither finalist answered correctly, countless viewers at home claimed the solution—boat—was immediately obvious because the word was concealed within the phrase “gazebo atop.”

Social media was once again flooded with reactions, with some calling it “the easiest 1% question ever,” while others joked about deliberately overthinking the puzzle and coming up with far stranger answers.

As has become increasingly common on The 1% Club, the biggest discussion wasn’t about who won the money—but whether the supposedly toughest question of the night really deserved its legendary 1% label.
