Is there any better way to end a long day or week than to snuggle up on the sofa in front of a thrilling series? But with so many options out there, it can be difficult to pick your next watch.

While programmes with multiple seasons sometimes feel like a big commitment, there are several shorter, limited series out there that aren’t as much of a time commitment. To help share her recommendations, one TV reviewer named Lamia shared her recommendation of a 2025 limited series that she claimed kept her at the edge of her seat.

“This show blew my mind. If you are looking for a TV show to binge, this is your sign,” Lamia said at the start of the video.

She went on to tease: “Let me tell you, this show had me like thinking what’s gonna happen. It had me on the edge of my seat.”

The show in question is Netflix’s limited series, The Survivors. Based on Jane Harper’s 2020 novel of the same name, the drama series follows Kieran Elliot, who moves back to his hometown 15 years after a severe storm caused the death of his brother and brother’s best friend. Around the same time, a girl also went missing.

As Kieran returns with his new family, the past comes back to haunt him, as the death of a young girl starts to bring up buried secrets.

The show premiered in June 2025, and currently has an impressive 100 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes, with viewers praising the plot and characters, writing it “scratches the right spot”. Despite only having six episodes, some also praised how it manages to tell a complex story in a limited amount of time.

The series stars Australian actor Charlie Vickers as Kieran, who is known for playing Sauron in the Amazon Prime fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

He plays alongside actress Yerin Ha, who recently also became widely known for her appearance as the lead of the fourth series of Bridgeton, Sophie Beak.

“It’s super twisty turning. It’s so, so good,” Lamia said. “And I totally recommend if you want a show to binge. It’s so good. I love, love, love this.”

And Lamia wasn’t the only one raving about it, as several viewers took to the comments section to share their own thoughts.

“Yes I loved it!” one person wrote, while another added: “Very good show!”

However, someone else went on to criticise the show, saying: “I’m going to be honest. I’ve tried multiple times and cannot get through episode 1. Maybe I’ll try again…”

The Survivors is currently streaming on Netflix.
