Meghan Markle is thought to now view the UK as a “lost cause” after the latest YouGov poll results regarding her popularity. The poll, which ran between July 20 and 21, showed the second-to-last least favourite royal.
The only royal that fell below Meghan was Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie ranking higher than her. The results showed that just 22% of Britons polled have a favourable view of Meghan, with a staggering 65% holding an unfavourable opinion of her.
Speaking to the Mirror, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said: “Meghan is an intelligent woman. I’m sure she is perfectly aware of her extremely low popularity in the UK.

“I should imagine she now views it as a lost cause and, in any case, she seems to be far happier with her sunshine life in California.
“I think Meghan can be credited with encouraging Harry to stop sulking about the past and concentrate on the future. But I’m not sure she has any further role to play in mending the rift between Harry and his family.”
Meghan returned to the UK last month, joining Harry along with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The 44-year-old was set to join Harry at the start of his trip but, after his request for police protection was denied, Meghan and their children remained out of Britain.

A few days later, however, Meghan travelled to the UK with Archie and Lilibet, with the family together for just shy of a week.
Prior to her latest visit, Meghan had not visited the UK since 2022.
Archie and Lilibet had also not visited the UK since the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in early June 2022.
