Kelly Clarkson Makes A Bold Move To Stop Riley Green From Winning Another Country Singer On The Voice
Kelly Clarkson was clearly not prepared to let Riley Green walk away with another country singer during The Voice Season 30 — and she found a hilarious way to fight back.
During the Blind Auditions, 26-year-old Anna McElroy took the stage with Maren Morris’ “80s Mercedes.” Clarkson and Queen Latifah turned their chairs early, but Green soon joined the competition for the Alabama-born singer.
The moment Green turned, Clarkson sprang out of her chair and positioned herself directly in front of him, attempting to block his view of Anna.
With the Block Button no longer part of the show this season, Clarkson had apparently found her own way to interfere.
Riley Green Has A Natural Connection To Anna

Clarkson already knew she had a difficult battle ahead.
Anna is from Mobile, Alabama, the same state Green calls home, giving the country singer an obvious connection to her background.
Still, Clarkson made it clear that she had been hoping to add a country artist to her team.
Adam Levine, who did not turn for Anna, even stepped into the coaching battle. He pointed out that Anna had chosen a Maren Morris song, suggesting that she could move between country and pop rather than being limited to one style.
Levine then jokingly compared Green to former The Voice coach Blake Shelton.
Green fired back that he had to be “at least Blake 4.0,” prompting Levine to continue the joke with a string of compliments about Green being younger, more talented and even better-looking in a cowboy hat.
Riley Makes His Pitch — But Kelly Gets The Last Word

Green then made his case directly to Anna.
He acknowledged that Maren Morris moves across different musical styles, but suggested that Anna should choose him if country music was truly where her heart belonged.
Clarkson appeared to believe Green had gained the advantage.
Anna, however, kept things light, joking, “Moving in already?!”
Clarkson then made one final attempt to convince her.
“I have won this show. I am proven. I know you’re gonna pick him… But I think I can win with you!” she told Anna.
It turned out Clarkson’s biggest fear was completely unfounded.
Anna chose Kelly.
Clarkson looked genuinely stunned before immediately rushing to the stage to hug her new artist. As they celebrated, she repeated her belief that the two of them could win the show together.
After the audition, Clarkson summed up exactly why she had fought so hard for Anna, calling her “the country artist I’ve been waiting for.”
Fans React To Kelly’s Move

Kelly’s decision to physically get between Riley and Anna quickly became one of the most talked-about moments from the audition.
Fans found the playful confrontation hilarious, with one viewer writing, “She is so funny. 🤣”
Another compared the moment to an earlier The Voice incident involving Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, writing, “It looks like Gwen blocking Blake a few seasons ago… just saying.”
A third fan simply added, “I just love her!! She is so funny.”
Not everyone was entertained by the coaches’ antics, though. One viewer felt the focus was drifting away from the contestants, commenting, “I think it’s supposed to be about the contestants……”
For many viewers, however, Clarkson’s playful attempt to keep Green away from Anna became one of the funniest moments of the Blind Audition.
And in the end, she got exactly what she wanted: Anna McElroy joined Team Kelly.
