Age-defying 90s superstar sends fans wild as she belts out national anthem before World Cup clash
AGELESS Alanis Morissette wowed fans as she belted out Canada’s national anthem before the co-hosts’ World Cup opener.
The 90s music icon took centre stage as part of the tournament’s opening celebrations in Toronto.
The performance came ahead of Canada’s opening Group B fixture against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
And Morissette, 52, wowed the crowd with a passionate rendition of the Canadian national anthem just before kick-off.
She was watched by her ex-fiance, the famous actor and Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds, who was in the stadium to cheer on his home nation too.
The Toronto stadium was completely captivated by the power of her vocals.
While viewers at home were amazing she had barely aged since her 90s heyday.
The singer originally rose to global fame with her multi-platinum smash-hit album Jagged Little Pill.
Decades on from becoming one of music’s biggest stars, fans were left amazed by both her spectacular performance and timeless appearance.
One fan said: “Damn, Alanis Morissette is Canadian? She looks the same as she did during her ‘Ironic’ days.”
