PLAYERS on The 1% Club were completely baffled by this animal question and it successfully knocked out a whopping 17 players.
The ITV show, fronted by Lee Mack, sees 100 contestants taking part in the studio with all episodes beginning with a question 90% of the population can answer, before whittling down to one that only 1% would know the answer to.
On Saturday night’s episode Lee delivered a stellar 70% question and the players were stumped – missing out on the mega £100,000 prize pot.
He asked: “Which vow do you need to add to the sequences of letters below to give the names of the two animals?”
The first sequence was: “LPC”.
And the second was: “LLM”.
With the 30 second clock running down the contestants were left scrambling trying to unpick the brain teaser.
Lee cheekily added: “We mean name the type of animal not like a Dave or Terry.”
The tricky animal themed question got the better of 17 contestants.
Host Lee said: “Lost quite a lot of you there, 17 people out.”
The 57-year-old then revealed the answers and some players were left visibly annoyed by their shoddy attempts.
It was the vowel “A” for Alpaca and LLama.
Chatting to one contestant named Cathy Cheslin, he said: “What did you put?”
Nail technician, Cathy replied: “U.”
Lee then joked: “Ulpucu and Ullumu.”
Attempting to defend her choice Cathy said: “Do you know… I just quickly pushed a letter quick.”
Unlike many other shows, the questions can be worked out via common sense and logic rather than using trivia knowledge.
But in a recent episode another 70% question seemed to wipe the floor with the contestants yet again.
During the episode players were asked: “What replaces the question mark in this sentence?”
The sentence then read: “Hot Hard Small Cold Easy ?”
Three multiple choice answers were given, with A being Big, B was Fast and C was slow.
A whopping 21 people in the studio were eliminated during the round as they failed to answer the question correctly – much higher than the usual number of contestants to be eliminated.
The answer was A. Big.
