The anticipated crime thriller, Furious, finally landed on our TV screens this week – and viewers are already hooked.

The Hulu Original series kicked off with its first three episodes, and it’s already being hailed by audiences as the “best new series in a long time”.

The eight-parter follows FBI agent Alice Black, who becomes obsessed with tracking down a cunning female serial killer.

Viewers have flooded social media with praise for the series. One person hailed it as “sensational,” while another said they were hooked just five minutes into the first episode.

The critical response has been equally positive, with The Guardian handing out four stars, hailing the show as “enormously entertaining TV that demands you pay attention,” while The Times also offered a four-star review of the “relentless, mesmerising” series.

What is Furious about?

Created by Elizabeth Meriwether (New Girl, The Dropout), the series follows FBI agent Alice Black (Emmy Rossum) as she hunts down a “mysterious and calculating” female serial killer.

The synopsis continues: “Both walk their own paths toward justice, and as their lives start to intertwine, the line between right and wrong begins to blur.”

Audiences can anticipate a “huge twist” at the end of the season, according to show creator Elizabeth Meriwether. “I genuinely want people to be on the edge of their seat,” she told Entertainment Weekly.

“I want people to be constantly surprised and uncomfortable in a fun, interesting way. I just want it to be a rip-roaring good time for people.”
