Ella Langley and Morgan Wallen have officially released their highly-anticipated duet, “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” a track that finds the pair tackling the struggles of moving on from a love that they can’t quit.

Co-written by Langley alongside Austin Goodloe and Joybeth Taylor, “I Can’t Love You Anymore” tells the story of two on-again, off-again lovers trying to move on. But small reminders like a lighter or an old photo keep pulling them back, making it clear that their repeated claims of being done with each other are more self-convincing than the truth.

Langley opens the song detailing how even the smallest things can bring back the memories of a lover she can’t seem to quit. As the memories surface, she admits how easily she gets pulled back into those feelings. “I found your lighter in my nightstand/ That’s why I’m thinking of you I guess/ What part of over don’t I understand/ ‘Cause damn I miss the taste of your cigarette/ Your memory pulls me right back in/ It’s like I forget,” Langley sings on the first verse.

In the chorus, Langley and Wallen struggle to convince themselves their love is truly over. “I can’t love you anymore/ Can’t keep chasing you round, round the back of my mind/ I can’t need you anymore/ Can’t keep sharing this bed with your ghost every night/ I hate that your kiss Left a burn on my lips/ Oh baby how do I tell my heart it ain’t yours/ When I’ve said it before/ I can’t love you anymore,” Langley and Wallen sing on perfect harmony on the track’s chorus.

The second verse shifts to Wallen’s perspective, as he comes across a faded photograph that pulls him back into a relationship he thought he’d left behind, reigniting emotions that refuse to fade. “Just when I think you let me let you go/ There’s a picture of us covered in dust on the dash/ Swore you lit it up just to see the smoke/ Wrote me plus you with the date on the back/ Look at that Your memory pulls me right back in It’s like I forget,” he sings on the tune, which is destined to become a massive radio hit.

A longtime fan of Ella Langley, Morgan Wallen said that the collaboration came naturally, adding that he was instantly drawn to the song upon first listen and knew he had to be part of it. “Ella and I have been talking about doing a song for a little while now,” Wallen reflected. “We have been on tour together and I’m a huge fan of what she does. She wrote and sent over this song and from the beginning riff, it was hard to deny. I’m honored she wanted me to be the one to do it with her.”

To celebrate the release of the duet, Langley and Wallen also unveiled a limited-edition T-shirt featuring a split license plate design, paying tribute to their respective home states of Alabama and Tennessee.

Eagle-eyed fans first spotted a teaser for the track in the “Choosin’ Texas” music video, where a truck’s license plate read “ICLYA,” an acronym for the song’s title. Still, no one suspected it would be a duet with Morgan Wallen until the two artists revealed the collaboration during Wallen’s headlining set on the Still The Problem Tour in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on April 18, 2026. Langley returned to the stage during the encore, where the pair surprised fans by debuting the song live. Many had expected Langley to perform Tate McRae’s verses from “What I Want,” but instead, the country superstars unveiled an entirely new duet at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

“We’re going to do something that we ain’t ever done tonight…Ella wrote this song and sent it to me about a month ago and I loved it from the second I heard it,” Wallen shared at the time.

This marks Ella Langley and Morgan Wallen’s first official recorded duet together, however, the pair have previously joined forces on stage for performances of “What I Want” and “Sand In My Boots.”

“I Can’t Love You Anymore” comes just two weeks after the release of Langley’s sophomore album, Dandelion, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, earning over 169,000 equivalent album units sold in its first week. It becomes her first album to top the chart, and becomes the largest week for a country album by a woman in two years, and the biggest week of 2026 for any woman, according to Billboard. The milestone also marked Ella Langley’s first ascent to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100. With it, she enters an elite group, Taylor Swift, Adele, Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, and Olivia Rodrigo, as one of the few artists to top the Artist 100, Billboard Hot 100 (“Choosin’ Texas” for a seventh week), and Billboard 200 at the same time.

Morgan Wallen is currently in the midst of his Still The Problem Stadium Tour, which Ella Langley serves as direct support on for several upcoming shows, including May 9 in Indianapolis, Indiana; May 16 in Gainesville, Florida; May 30 in Denver, Colorado; June 6 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; June 20 in Chicago, Illinois; June 27 in Clemson, South Carolina; July 18 in Baltimore, Maryland; and August 1 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Wallen’s tour comes in support of his fourth studio album, I’m The Problem, released on May 16, 2025, via Big Loud/Mercury Records. I’m The Problem includes 37 tracks, including “Smile,” “Lies Lies Lies,” “Love Somebody,” “Just In Case” and “I’m A Little Crazy,” as well as “Superman,” a heartfelt track he wrote as a letter to his son, Indigo, “Interlude,” “20 Cigarettes,” “TN,” “Don’t We,” “Falling Apart,” “Kick Myself,” “Genesis,” “Kiss Her In Front Of You” and more. The project also features collaborations with his musical hero Eric Church, along with Post Malone, Tate McRae, and longtime friends and collaborators HARDY and ERNEST.

Meanwhile, Ella Langley is gearing up to launch her first-ever headlining arena trek, The Dandelion Tour, on May 7 at Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio. The 16-show stint, featuring support from Kameron Marlowe, Dylan Marlowe, Kaitlin Butts, Gabriella Rose, and Laci Kaye Booth on select dates, will continue through August 15, where the trek will wrap up at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Dandelion Tour comes in support of Langley’s latest album, Dandelion, which arrived on April 10 via SAWGOD Records/Columbia. Co-produced by Miranda Lambert and Ben West, the 18-track project features the chart-topping hit “Choosin’ Texas,” buzzed-about anthem “Be Her,” “Bottom Of Your Boots,” “Broken,” “I Gotta Quit,” “Dandelion,” “Loving Life Again” and more as well as a duet with Miranda Lambert and a cover of Kitty Wells’ “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels.”
