Emma Bunton was left in complete shock after risking her ring during a breathtaking America’s Got Talent illusion that had the judges and audience convinced it was gone forever.

America’s Got Talent judge Mel B called in an old friend Tuesday for help deciding which acts will move forward in the competition: fellow Spice Girls member Emma Bunton, the Baby Spice to her Scary Spice.

She introduced her as her “very, very special friend.”

While the women were obviously happy to see one another during the Judges’ Callbacks — when Mel B and her fellow judges, Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara, split up to see a few acts one more time — there was a time when Bunton surely wished she hadn’t gone to Mel B’s home.

It came during magician Joel M’s performance, when he needed some jewelry to make disappear.

He asked Bunton for one of her rings, which she was reluctant to give him.

Still, she did, calling after him, “Please don’t lose it!”

Then he promptly dropped it in a haystack. It ended up in a walnut that he cracked moments later.

“You are joking me!” Bunton said.

Even after he left the room, Bunton said, “That’s nuts.”

Just last month, Joel M had taken something from Mel B during his audition.

While he began on the show’s stage, he went to her dressing room backstage and took a bracelet.

“No!” she had protested. “That bracelet was from my Spice Girls for my 50th birthday.”

The Spice Girls, which also included Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), remain one the most successful girl groups in history.

Along with Mel B’s bracelet, the magician, whose full name is Joel Mawhinney, had also collected a framed photograph from Sofia Vergara along with Howie Mandel’s phone. He then proceeded to hammer them, only to make the items mysteriously reappear unharmed.

Joel M was ultimately not sent through to the upcoming AGT live episodes. Singers Madelyn Tallent & Malachi Martin, comedian Lachlan Patterson were also cut, while singers Bety and Butter & Grit, along with mentalists James & Marina, survived.

Cowell, meanwhile, saw his acts at his Malibu estate, where he was assisted by singer Normani and singer and producer Poo Bear.

There, musicians Elsie, Nyjah Music & Zyah Rhythm, Travis Garland, dancer Sando, and comedian Akira lived to see another day on the talent competition. Dance act Elektro Dads, unfortunately, received some bad news.

Vergara and Mandel will see their own callback performances next week.

America’s Got Talent airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and streams the next day on Peacock.
