A Royal insider claims William is ‘seething’ by the Sussexes latest public appearance, which has attracted some criticism.
Prince William has been left furious after Harry and Meghan’s latest move, according to reports. A Royal insider claims the Sussexes’ recent trip to Nottingham was the ‘final straw’ for the Prince of Wales.
Harry and Meghan made the trip to the East Midlands on Thursday, October 15, visiting Community Recording Studio (CRS) and the Himmah charity and greeting crowds and well-wishers who lined the streets.
However, according to a New Idea! Royal insider, the move has angered Harry’s older brother William. “Prince William is seething,” the source claims.
“William could not believe what he was seeing. It was the final straw for him.
“It couldn’t have looked more like an official royal duty if it tried. It was as if they’d totally ignored Charles’ letter. William is furious about it.
“He would have little hesitation in doing everything in his power to block them. He’s so angry, if he could kick them out of the country right now, he would.”
Upon their return to the UK, Harry and Meghan were identified as “non-working royals and private citizens” in a letter from King Charles widely distributed in September. Despite this, the Sussexes returned to Nottingham – a city they visited back in 2017 as working Royals – for their first joint public appearance since returning to the country.
According to the source, “there are now intense meetings being held between William and the King’s advisers on how to avoid Harry and Meghan gatecrashing other events or clashing with senior royals’ events.”
They continued: “Upstaging any other senior royal, by having an event on the same day, is very much not the done thing. Royal diary clashes are avoided at all costs, but Harry and Meghan totally ignored that rule with their Nottingham stunt.”
“Harry really should have known better than to upstage his father, but he and Meghan went ahead anyway.”
“Harry’s not going to be pushed around by his brother. He’s determined to make a go of his life in the UK – and Meghan is on board. If it comes to a stand-off, Harry is up for it.
“Behind the scenes, Charles will be doing all he can to calm William down and let him deal with the Sussexes in his own way. For now, he has to toe the line, but if Harry and Meghan continue to go rogue, William will have no hesitation in confronting Charles about them – sooner rather than later.”
