Jeopardy! Champion Anthony Cantor Secures Third Straight Win After Final Jeopardy Ruling Sparks Discussion
Jeopardy! champion Anthony Cantor extended his winning streak to three games after a Final Jeopardy clue about ancient artifacts helped him secure another victory.
The television and podcast producer from Toronto, Ontario, returned to the competition on October 21 with $42,401 in winnings from his first two appearances.
Facing teacher Sam Robison of Birmingham, Alabama, and recent University of Pennsylvania graduate Kayla Patel of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, Cantor entered the final round with a commanding lead.
However, his response to the last clue differed slightly from the expected answer, leaving the judges to determine whether it would count.
Anthony Cantor Takes a Strong Lead Into Final Jeopardy
Cantor maintained his advantage throughout the game, finishing the Double Jeopardy round with $14,600.
Robison followed with $6,400, while Patel had $600.

Robison managed to break a five-game streak of missed Daily Doubles by correctly responding to the final Daily Double of the episode.
Despite that success, he remained well behind Cantor heading into the last round.
The Final Jeopardy category was Ancient Artifacts, with a clue referencing a discovery made in 1974.
The clue read:
Discovered in 1974, these artifacts were armed with real weapons & none of the 7,000+ figures were the same.
Contestants needed to identify the famous collection of ancient Chinese sculptures discovered near the tomb of China’s first emperor.
Final Jeopardy Ruling Helps Cantor Secure His Third Victory
The expected response was the Terracotta Army.
Both Robison and Patel provided that answer correctly.
Patel wagered $500, bringing her final score to $1,100, while Robison added $1,400 to finish with $7,800.
Cantor, however, wrote Terracotta Warriors rather than Terracotta Army.
The judges accepted his response, recognizing it as another name for the same collection of ancient sculptures.
Cantor had wagered $1,799, increasing his final score to $16,399.
That victory brought his three-day total to $58,500, allowing him to return for a fourth appearance.
Although he has not yet secured a Tournament of Champions qualification, his latest victory keeps that possibility alive.
Jeopardy! Viewers React to Ancient Artifacts Clue
Following the episode, viewers discussed the Final Jeopardy question on Reddit, with several suggesting that the clue was easier than many recent final-round challenges.
Some said they immediately recognized the reference to the Terracotta Army because of the discovery date and the enormous number of individually detailed figures.
Others pointed out that the mention of real weapons made the answer particularly recognizable.
One commenter described it as the easiest Final Jeopardy clue in some time, while another said there seemed to be few plausible alternatives.
The discussion reflected how quickly some viewers identified the historical reference, even as the contestants approached the final round with very different scores.
Can Anthony Cantor Extend His Winning Streak?
Cantor’s latest victory makes him one of the relatively few contestants this season to assemble a winning streak of more than two games.
His three appearances have now earned him $58,500, putting him in a promising position as he continues his run.
With no contestant from the season having secured a postseason berth at the time of the episode, Cantor has an opportunity to strengthen his Tournament of Champions prospects.
He will return for his fourth game on Thursday, October 22, hoping to add another victory to his growing total.
