A deadly plant that seems to be a harmless flower is growing in Florida yards

Isn’t it fascinating how plants hold a vast array of chemical compounds within them, each with its unique qualities? That might be why I have so many plants in my house! It isn’t just natural beauty and aesthetics – plants are multifaceted…and sometimes toxic. Plants use these toxic compounds to fend off pesky plant-munching insects, shield themselves from microbial infections, and even create barriers between injured and healthy tissues. It’s like they have their own little armor to protect themselves! But, while we can all be mesmerized by both the inside and outside of plants, we still need to take extra care, especially in Florida. There is a deadly plant growing in Florida known as the oleander that, from the outside looks like a gorgeous flower. But animals and humans take heed!

Did you know there was a deadly plant growing in Florida? Have you ever seen the Oleander in your yard? Sound off in the comments section!
