The Voice Season 30 premiere delivered its first four-chair turn when sisters Ferryn and Brinkley Wright took the stage and impressed all four coaches with their performance of Linda Ronstadt’s “When Will I Be Loved.”

Ferryn, 20, and Brinkley, 17, are sisters from Sevierville, Tennessee, the hometown of the late country legend Dolly Parton. The sisters also have a special connection to Parton. Both work full-time as performers at Dollywood, Parton’s famous theme park in East Tennessee.

Before their audition, the sisters shared what it meant to grow up in a place so closely connected to Parton. Ferryn even had the chance to perform onstage with Parton before her death, while both sisters once walked in a parade alongside the country icon.

“It was an honor to be around the late, great Dolly Parton,” Ferryn said during the episode. “We miss her so much, and East Tennessee will never be the same.”

The sisters brought that East Tennessee spirit to The Voice stage with their performance of “When Will I Be Loved.” Kelly Clarkson and Queen Latifah turned their chairs first, before Riley Green and Adam Levine also joined in, giving Ferryn and Brinkley the season’s first four-chair turn.

The sisters had dreamed of appearing on The Voice for years. Their father even built them a small stage at home with a karaoke machine, giving them a place to practice and perform together while growing up.

All four coaches had plenty to say after the performance. Queen Latifah praised their sweet harmonies and energy, while Adam pointed out how strong their chemistry was as sisters. Riley Green said their performance reminded him of the old-school country music he grew up hearing and praised the comeback of duos in country music.

Kelly Clarkson also pointed to her experience coaching groups, noting that she was the only coach to win with a group when Girl Named Tom took the Season 21 title.

The coaches then fought for the sisters, with Riley bringing up his experience working with artists such as Ella Langley. Kelly also tried to convince them that she could help them put their own spin on songs outside country music.

In the end, Ferryn and Brinkley chose Team Riley, giving Green his first four-chair-turn act of the season.

For the sisters, the moment was about more than simply earning four chair turns. Coming from Sevierville and working at Dollywood, their journey to The Voice carried a special connection to the place and the music that shaped them.

It’s safe to say the sisters gave East Tennessee something to be proud of, while earning the respect of all four coaches on one of the biggest stages in music.

Ferryn and Brinkley had already auditioned for American Idol

Ferryn and Brinkley Wright have been performing together for years, but their journey on TV talent shows actually started separately. The sisters auditioned individually for American Idol Season 23 in 2025, since the show does not allow duos. Both Ferryn and Brinkley received golden tickets, although neither of their auditions was aired.

The sisters also released their first single, “Wrong Girl,” in late August. They co-wrote the song with Adam Wheeler and former American Idol standout Janelle Arthur, who also produced the track.

Their connection to Dolly Parton runs especially deep. Ferryn and Brinkley have performed regularly at Dollywood, especially at the park’s DreamMore and Heartsong hotels. Ferryn even played Dolly in Dollywood’s “From the Heart” show.

Earlier this spring, the sisters were selected to walk just ahead of the car Parton was riding in during a parade at Dollywood. They celebrated the moment on social media, calling it “the opportunity of a lifetime to walk alongside our dreamer in chief.”

Ferryn also had the chance to sing onstage with Parton before her death, while both sisters had walked in a parade alongside the country icon. After Parton’s passing, Ferryn and Brinkley shared a heartfelt tribute by performing a duet of “I Will Always Love You.”

Brinkley has been performing since she was very young. She was just 10 when she was introduced as a new youth performer at the Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Her bio says she had been performing since age 4.

Even then, Brinkley dreamed of becoming a famous country duo with her sister Ferryn, a dream that has now taken them from East Tennessee and Dollywood to the biggest stage of their young careers on The Voice.
