Prince Harry has broken his silence on the same day the Royal Family welcomed the Sultan of Oman to Windsor.
Prince Harry has broken his silence on his “broken relationship” with his brother Prince William and father, King Charles. Asked whether he grieves the relationship he once had with his family, Harry told GQ: “Yes, of course. I think from a family perspective, again, another massively relatable issue for so many people, sibling disagreements, broken relationships between kids and their parents, kids and one parent.
“That continues to come up with me the whole time with people that I speak to, so I know how relatable it is. People may look at us and go, “How are you gonna work it out? Maybe that will help me work my stuff out.”
The duke added: “Some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out. With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile—that’s the key point. […] Scars stick around forever.
“But what your perception is, and what your mindset is to those things that have happened, letting go of the past. That’s something that I would encourage everybody to do: If there’s certain things from the past that are still affecting you every day, that’s harder to let go of.
“But, for me, there’s enough drama in the world and enough drama in people’s lives to continue with issues with family.”

Elsewhere, Harry spoke about the challenges that he faced growing up with grief, his complicated relationship with the press, taking control of his public profile, and his return to Britain.
Finally revealing why he, his wife Meghan Markle, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet return to the UK, Harry said:
“I think that certainly, our attitude has changed. I think once you’ve been through it, once you’ve been able to talk about it, and raise awareness to it, then people see it for what it is, it makes the environment slightly easier.
“It’s not going to necessarily stop the behaviour, but I think the behaviour might—my hope that it will—change.”
“What happened back then was then. What’s happened over the last six years has been a continuation of that. Some battles that had been fought—and necessarily so. […]
“With everything else that’s going on in the world, there’s aspects of the past that I’m sure all of us—me, my family, and some of the British press—that we’d all like to leave behind us and work for the greater good.”
Meanwhile, earlier this afternoon, the King, the Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales welcomed the Sultan of Oman to a rainy Windsor for his state visit to the UK.
Sultan Haitham bin Tarik Al Said was greeted by the monarch in the open air outside Windsor and Eton Riverside station amid autumn downpours.
The pomp and pageantry will culminate today with a glittering state banquet at Windsor Castle.
