PRINCESS CHARLOTTE RECEIVES A SURPRISE LETTER FROM A YOUNG FAN — THE PERSONAL QUESTIONS THAT LEFT PRINCE WILLIAM WITH A SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR HIS DAUGHTER

Princess Charlotte may be only 11, but her popularity has already inspired young fans to reach out to her in the sweetest ways — including one schoolgirl who recently entrusted Prince William with a handwritten letter for his daughter.
The young girl, from Ilminster in Somerset, approached the future King earlier this month and handed him a note intended for Charlotte. After shaking hands with William, she explained that she had included “a few questions” for the young princess.
Among them were two simple but personal queries: Charlotte’s favourite colour and how old she is.
The schoolgirl is believed to be younger than Charlotte, making the gesture an endearing attempt to learn more about a royal child close to her own age.

THE LETTER THAT FOUND ITS WAY TO PRINCE WILLIAM
Although Charlotte is not yet a working royal and remains focused on her education, she regularly appears alongside her family at major royal occasions.
These include the Easter church service, Trooping the Colour and the traditional Christmas Day walkabout at Sandringham, where members of the public sometimes get the opportunity to greet the young royals, wave to them or take photographs.
But the latest letter shows how some admirers try to connect with Charlotte even when she is not present at an event.
By handing the note directly to William, the schoolgirl found a way to send her questions to the princess through someone who knows her best. It is not known whether Charlotte has received the letter or whether she will respond.

CHARLOTTE HAS RECEIVED HEARTFELT LETTERS BEFORE
This is not the first time a young admirer has written to Charlotte.
Last year, 10-year-old Grace Barrett sent the princess a handwritten letter after her mother, Carly Barrett, and grandmother, Alison Madgin, were honoured by King Charles at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle.
The pair were recognised for their work with Samantha’s Legacy, a charity dedicated to raising awareness of and helping prevent knife crime.

Grace’s letter was later shared on social media by William and Catherine, who publicly thanked her for taking the time to write to their daughter.
Introducing herself, Grace wrote: “My name is Grace Barrett, and I’m 10 years old. Just [like] you!”
She also expressed pride in the work of her mother and grandmother, telling Charlotte: “I’m really proud of them both and feel honoured to be going with them.”
The message offered a glimpse into the connection Charlotte can inspire among children who see her as someone not so different from themselves.
THE ROYAL FAMILY’S THOUGHTFUL RESPONSE TO ANOTHER YOUNG FAN

Charlotte’s parents have also acknowledged other letters sent by children eager to learn more about the princess.
Last year, a young girl named Ivy wrote to William and Catherine to ask whether Charlotte was interested in K-pop. The family responded through James Dawson, Head of Royal Correspondence at the Royal Household.
In the letter, written on their behalf, the Prince and Princess of Wales thanked Ivy for her message and her words of support.
“It was interesting to learn a little about yourself, and your generous words of support for Princess Charlotte were greatly appreciated,” it read.
The response also included a detail likely to delight young music fans: “‘Golden’ from K-pop Demon Hunters has been playing during Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace.”
The letter concluded by thanking Ivy for her thoughtfulness and sending warm wishes to her and her family.
A SMALL GESTURE THAT REVEALS CHARLOTTE’S APPEAL
From questions about her favourite colour to shared interests in music, the letters sent to Charlotte reflect the curiosity and affection she inspires among young members of the public.
Her position in the Royal Family makes her a familiar face at major events, but the handwritten messages show how children can also relate to her through everyday interests and experiences.
William’s latest encounter with the schoolgirl adds another chapter to that connection — with a young fan’s questions now entrusted to the future King in the hope of reaching his daughter.
