PRINCE WILLIAM ‘CANNOT IMAGINE’ REPAIRING RELATIONSHIP WITH HARRY — FRESH GQ INTERVIEW LEAVES ROYAL RIFT IN SHARPER FOCUS
Prince William reportedly cannot see a way to repair his fractured relationship with Prince Harry, with a source close to the future king claiming the damage caused by his brother’s public revelations remains deeply painful.
The latest comments, reported by the Daily Mirror, came after Harry discussed his hopes for reconciliation in a new interview with GQ. While the Duke of Sussex insisted that repairing family relationships was more important than holding on to past grievances, the response attributed to William’s circle suggested the brothers remain far apart.
“There isn’t a world right now where the Prince of Wales can imagine repairing the relationship with his brother,” the source said.
They added that William remained “deeply hurt” by the many things Harry had said publicly about him and other members of the Royal Family.

The source also pointed to the monarchy’s current priorities, including the state visit by the Sultan of Oman, commemorations marking 60 years since the Aberfan disaster, and preparations for major royal tours.
“This is what matters to the Prince and Princess of Wales, and the King and Queen – and that certainly doesn’t include responding to the Duke of Sussex every time he pops up doing yet another interview,” the source added.
HARRY SAYS HE WANTS RECONCILIATION — BUT THE WOUNDS REMAIN
In his GQ interview, Harry spoke candidly about grieving the relationships he once had with his family. He described the situation as something many people could relate to, pointing to disagreements between siblings and fractured relationships between parents and children.
“Yes, of course,” Harry said when asked whether he grieved those lost connections.
“That continues to come up with me all the time with the people I speak to, so I know how relatable it is. People may look at us and go, ‘How are you gonna work it out?’ Maybe that will help me work my stuff out.”
He then delivered the remark that prompted fresh attention to the long-running family rift.
“Some people don’t want it to work out. I want it to work out,” Harry said.

“With everything else that’s going on in the world, the most important thing is to reconcile—that’s the key point. […] Scars stick around forever.”
Harry acknowledged that painful experiences can leave lasting marks, but argued that people’s perceptions and willingness to let go of the past can shape how they move forward.
“That’s something that I would encourage everybody to do: If there’s certain things from the past that are still affecting you every day, that’s harder to let go of,” he explained.
“But, for me, there’s enough drama in the world and enough drama in people’s lives to continue with issues with family.”
HARRY’S SPOKESPERSON CLARIFIES THE REMARK

Following the interview, a spokesperson for Harry stressed that his comment about some people not wanting reconciliation was general and “absolutely not intended as a swipe” at William, King Charles or any other member of the Royal Family.
The clarification came against the backdrop of years of public disclosures by Harry, including his memoir Spare, television interviews and remarks made at paid speaking engagements. Those revelations have contributed to the brothers’ prolonged estrangement.
Harry’s latest comments indicate that he still wants to move beyond the family’s difficulties. However, the account attributed to William’s circle suggests that, at least for now, the prospect of repairing their relationship remains uncertain.
ROYAL TIMING ADDS ANOTHER LAYER TO THE STORY
Harry’s interview was published as King Charles and Queen Camilla welcomed the Sultan of Oman to Windsor Castle for a major state visit. William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, also attended, taking on prominent roles during the royal engagement.
The timing placed Harry’s renewed appeal for reconciliation alongside a significant week of official royal duties.
While Harry has spoken openly about wanting to leave past grievances behind, the latest comments attributed to William’s circle suggest that the emotional consequences of their public dispute have not disappeared. Whether the brothers can eventually find common ground remains unresolved.
