America’s Got Talent is back tonight with new auditions for Season 21 of the NBC talent competition with the surprising addition of 92-year-old Jesse White and his tumbling team from Chicago, which he has been coaching for 67 years.
“We are here to show you how high we can fly without any roofs,” the team told judge Simon Cowell prior to performing.
“This has been the most exciting thing I’ve seen today,” Sofia Vergara told the tumblers. “You guys literally fly. You know how to fly. “
“You just went bang, bang, bang, pop, pop, jump,” Mel B added. “It was constant. It was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you, guys.”
Howie Mandel chimed in, “You guys kept getting higher and going further and longer and more extreme than I could ever imagine. You are the epitome of what AGT is all about. Thank you for being here.”
Simon wrapped it up by saying, “It was sensational. You are following an act with lasers and pyrotechnics, and this is all about you as a group, as individuals, being great, putting the hours in. It really, really paid off.”
Backstage, host Terry Crews was wishing he had a third Golden Buzzer, but he had already used his two for the season.
Of course, there was no doubt that the Jesse White Tumbling Team received four yeses. Now it just has to make the Judges Cuts to get to the Live Shows and America’s votes.
America’s Got Talent airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on Peacock.
