Kelly Ripa credits one of music’s biggest stars with helping her daughter, Lola Consuelos, discover her passion.
On the Thursday, July 9, episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, Ripa and Mark Consuelos sat down with Jim Parsons to chat about his role in the Broadway musical Titaníque. The show parodies the 1997 film Titanic and is set to the music of Céline Dion.
During the conversation, Ripa recalled a meaningful memory she shared with Dion years ago when she appeared on Live With Regis and Kelly. “We had Céline Dion on this show, and I remember because my daughter was a baby,” Ripa shared. “And she was singing to my daughter as a baby.”
Ripa noted that Lola has grown up to become a singer, and thinks Dion played a part in Lola’s career path. “I am convinced it’s because Céline blessed her,” the host quipped. “She sang it into her.”
Parsons agreed with Ripa’s theory, stating, “I would not doubt she has the power to do that. In our show, she’s endowed with the power to bring us all back to life after we’ve died on the Titanic, so she could easily give your daughter the gift of voice.” (Actress Marla Mindelle scored a 2026 Tony nomination for her role as Dion in Titaníque.)
Dion has become a legend in the music industry, having received five Grammys and completed multiple Las Vegas residencies. One of her most iconic hits, “My Heart Will Go On,” was famously featured in the film Titanic (and won the Oscar for Best Original Song).
Lola is the middle child of Ripa and Mark’s three children, including sons Michael and Joaquin. After releasing several singles over the years, Lola celebrated the release of her first EP, Sorry, it’s all about me, in December 2025.
“My mini tiny baby debut EP ‘sorry, it’s all about me’ is out tonight! I’ve had the best time creating this project with the most magical people,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “Writing is one of the most beautiful forms of therapy, and being able to put those thoughts into a song is even better. Everyone I’ve collaborated with has unlocked something within me.”

She continued, “This process has helped me let go of old grudges and unsaid feelings, and has helped me stay present and appreciative for everything that comes my way. I’m forever grateful for the gift of music and the outlet it’s given me for my thoughts. Can’t wait for all of you to listen.”
That same month, Ripa and Mark traveled to England to surprise Lola at her EP release party. “She was so nervous leading up to this thing. And we wanted to go, but we didn’t want to add any more pressure for us to be there. [We were] told not to go, and we said, ‘No problem,’” Mark explained on Live. “So, we thought we would sneak into London, sneak into London and just kind of be somewhere in the crowd.”
The couple disguised themselves by sporting hats, which Ripa said Lola joked made them look like “forgotten cast members of the Peaky Blinders.”
