Zara Tindall struggled to contain her emotions during a deeply personal conversation with husband Mike Tindall, revealing the touching story behind one of the proudest achievements of her sporting career.

The royal couple sat down together for the inaugural episode of Mike’s Mike Drop podcast, discussing family life, their children and Zara’s remarkable journey as an Olympic equestrian.

Although the interview featured plenty of laughter and affectionate teasing, the mood changed when Zara began remembering the late racehorse owner Trevor Hemmings and the role he played in her success.

The memory left her visibly emotional as she explained why winning an Olympic medal had meant so much more than personal achievement.

“But to see his face at the Olympics and to get that team medal was amazing,” she explained.

“And to be able to give something back to him when he had supported me for so long was incredible.”

“No, actually it’s not,” Mike admitted.
