An “unforgettable” romcom is getting a Netflix reboot with one of its iconic stars now working behind the scenes.

Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo’s 13 Going on 30 is undoubtedly a fan-favourite for those who love romantic comedies and now, it’s getting a whole new look.

Netflix has confirmed that a 13 Going on 30 reboot is on the way and will star People We Meet on Vacation’s Emily Bader and Only Murders in the Building actor Logan Lerman.

They will be joined by a number of other big names including Fantastic Four actress Jessica Alba, Big Mistakes’ Taylor Ortega and Mean Girls star Tim Meadows.

Director Brett Haley said: “13 Going on 30 is one of those rare, perfect films.

“Funny, emotional, [and] deeply human, with unforgettable performances from Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Judy Greer.

“I’m a longtime fan, so stepping into this reimagining comes with tremendous responsibility.

“Jennifer Garner being on board as an executive producer, after playing such a big part of what made the original special, is especially meaningful.”

This will be the first collaboration between Bader and Haley since the successful release of People We Meet on Vacation earlier this year which made the Top 10 films list in 92 countries.

Sharing that he “couldn’t be more excited to reunite” with Bader, he added: “She and the amazingly talented Logan Lerman are a magical pairing.

“I feel incredibly lucky to be trusted with something that means so much to so many people.”

As of yet, there has been no talk of an official Netflix release date but filming has started.

13 Going on 30 tells the heartfelt story of 13-year-old Jenna Rink who wishes to be “thirty, flirty and thriving” after a humiliating birthday party.

Next thing she knows and she wakes up as a 30-year-old fashion magazine editor, now played by actress Jennifer Garner.

But it doesn’t take long before she realises that this “perfect” life needs fixing as she tries to reconnect with her childhood best friend.

13 Going on 30 will be available to watch on Netflix.
