Oh WOW… Oh NO… And Oh REALLY? Rhonda Vincent’s Tiny Granddaughter Stepped Into Country Music’s Most Sacred Circle And Sweetly Sang “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” In A Moment Almost Too Precious For Words

Rhonda Vincent’s 2-Year-Old Granddaughter Steals the Show With Sweet Grand Ole Opry Performance

Rhonda Vincent's 2-year-old granddaughter, Faye, sang the Carter Family's "Will the Circle be Unbroken" at the Grand Ole Opry

Bluegrass talent clearly runs deep in Rhonda Vincent’s family.

The Grammy-winning performer known as the “Queen of Bluegrass” recently welcomed two very special guests to the Grand Ole Opry stage: her daughter Sally and her two-year-old granddaughter, Faye. But it was little Faye who ended up charming the audience when she confidently stepped into the famous Circle and sang a country and bluegrass standard with her grandmother.

Holding a ukulele and showing remarkably few signs of stage fright, the toddler joined Vincent for the Carter Family classic “Can the Circle Be Unbroken.”

For a family already closely connected to the Opry, it was an especially fitting song — and an adorable moment spanning three generations.

The Grand Ole Opry Is Already a Vincent Family Affair

Rhonda Vincent officially became a member of the Grand Ole Opry family in 2021.

By then, she already had a close relative among the Opry membership. Her brother, Darrin Vincent, had been inducted four years earlier in 2017 as one half of the bluegrass duo Dailey & Vincent.

So performing at the Opry has become something of a Vincent family tradition.

That connection grew another generation deeper when Rhonda brought Sally and Faye onto the stage during a recent appearance.

Video shared by the Opry captures Rhonda beaming as she turns the audience’s attention toward her granddaughter.

Two-year-old Faye stood proudly in the center of the iconic Circle with a ukulele in her hands as her grandmother asked whether she wanted to sing.

Sally then picked up her daughter and positioned her in front of the microphone.

With a little help from Rhonda to get her started, Faye began singing the chorus of “Can the Circle Be Unbroken.”

Despite being only two years old and standing before a Grand Ole Opry audience, Faye appeared completely comfortable with the attention.

When she finished, the crowd responded with warm applause — and the youngster even remembered to thank them.

It was a brief performance, but one that offered an endearing glimpse at another musical generation of the Vincent family.

The Story Behind “Can the Circle Be Unbroken”

The song Faye performed has a history stretching back more than a century.

“Can the Circle Be Unbroken” originated from the Christian hymn “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” written by Ada R. Habershon in 1907, with music composed by Charles H. Gabriel.

Years later, A. P. Carter of the Carter Family reworked the piece into a funeral hymn.

His adaptation retained the familiar “by and by” chorus while introducing new verses. The Carter Family renamed their version “Can the Circle Be Unbroken” and released their recording in 1935.

That interpretation became the version subsequently performed by generations of artists, although the song continues to be widely known under the original title, “Will the Circle Be Unbroken.”

Its history also gives Faye’s performance at the Grand Ole Opry an added layer of significance.

A Song With a Special Connection to the Opry

Few places could be more appropriate for a performance of “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” than the Grand Ole Opry.

The Circle at center stage carries enormous significance for the artists who perform there, making the song’s imagery particularly meaningful within the Opry tradition.

That connection was highlighted during the Opry 100 television special in 2025, celebrating the institution’s 100th birthday.

“Will the Circle Be Unbroken” was chosen for the closing performance, bringing together more than 50 Grand Ole Opry members.

Rhonda Vincent was among the artists who participated.

Now, not long afterward, her two-year-old granddaughter has stood inside that same Circle and sung the familiar chorus herself.

Faye may be far too young to know whether music will eventually become part of her own future. For now, however, she has already accomplished something memorable: taking the Grand Ole Opry stage alongside her mother and grandmother and winning over the crowd without appearing the least bit intimidated.

If Rhonda Vincent is the “Queen of Bluegrass,” her tiny granddaughter certainly looked comfortable taking her first steps into the family tradition.
